Hi, I’m Laura — the cook, writer, and photographer behind Yummyfoodi.
I’m a mom of two, which means most of my cooking happens in that chaotic window between school pickup and bedtime. I started this site because I was tired of recipes that promised “quick and easy” and then handed me a 30-ingredient list and a sink full of dishes. Everything here is food I actually make on real weeknights — tested in my own kitchen, usually with a kid asking when dinner’s ready.
My love for cooking started in my grandmother’s kitchen, where nothing was measured and everything tasted incredible. I’ve spent years since then trying to bottle that feeling into recipes anyone can follow, even on a busy Tuesday. Some are quick 20-minute dinners, some are the slower weekend kind, and a few are just shameless desserts because life’s too short.
A few things I promise you here:
- Every recipe is one I’ve cooked myself, more than once.
- I’ll tell you what can go wrong and how to fix it — not just the perfect version.
- No 800-word life story before the recipe. (Okay, this page is the exception.)
If you try something and it works for your family, that’s the whole point. Thanks for cooking with me.
— Laura
